Have you ever thought about why customers should conduct their local business with you? What is your USP? What brings them back, making them a repeat and loyal customer? Why would they refer you to other potential customers?

Due to the state of the economy today these are some great questions that every business needs to give lots of thought to. They need to evaluate themselves and determine what they're doing well and what they need to improve upon.

Let's first take a look at your USP - unique selling proposition. Your distinct marketing edge must be what differentiates you from your competition. So what are you known for? If that's a tough question for you to answer than you better work on that aspect of your business immediately.

There are too many choices for consumers today for them to patronize an average company. Perhaps you have a unique product line. Or are you known for outstanding customer service? Maybe you have lower prices than your competition or your service and product quality is much higher. These are all examples of a USP that may enable you to stand out from the crowd.

There are two things that will also always cause customers to want to do their local business with you- quality and great customer service. These are the things that will prompt them to refer others to you.

Think about your own experiences. If the prices are low but the quality and customer service aren't so good how excited are you to do business with a company?

Good quality products combined with great customer service is a formula every business would be wise to build on- especially today. These are things you can tout in your advertising as something you are very proud of.

However, there will need to be a high level of commitment on your part to attain them. Even though these are things you can control it can be still be a challenge to accomplish them. You must have total team buy-in to the concept of providing great service and offering quality products.

This comes from making your employees feel important and a part of team success. The more you include them in the business and empower them the better your odds are in achieving this. And the better they feel about your company the better they will interact with your customers.

That's an important statement. Studies have shown that more customers "fire" a business because of poor treatment by employees. And no business can afford to lose customers.

So take a look at what you currently do that enables you to stand out in your local area. Determine what you want to do that will prompt customers to conduct their local business with you. And then make darn sure that everyone on your staff is committed to achieve those goals.

Whatever character Corinne Demas creates is surely one you will fall instantly in love with. With Toby, in ALWAYS IN TROUBLE, it is easier than usual as he is a pound type pup of the "generic" breed that is white and tan and just adorable. HOWEVER, can one still love Toby when he exhibits such wayward, undisciplined behavior? To put it simply, Toby is ALWAYS IN TROUBLE, but he is also always loved!

Young readers will easily learn the days of the week through the repetition as they read about Toby's mishaps each day. They will love the book and want it read to them, or read it themselves, over and over and the recurrence of the days along with the engaging illustrations by Noah Z. Jones will have everyone enchanted by this disobedient dog! Each day of the week, Toby is into a different kind of naughtiness. One day he is eating the homemade bread and soon after it is the buttons on a coat. Toby gets into the garbage as much as he gets into trouble until finally Emma, his owner, decides it is time for Toby to go to dog obedience school to learn right from wrong, and how to follow simple orders. His first attempt at an education results in an F on his doggie report card. He is then taken back for another stay in an obedience school where he will reside while he learns right from wrong.

Will Emma pick up her pup with an Outstanding on his report card this time, or will he just be out standing and running around when she arrives? To Emma's surprise, she finds a new and improved Toby! Toby returns home and not only helps with chores like folding laundry, but also bakes the bread instead of eating it. Can it be? Has Toby changed that much? I was charmed by it and the way it was illustrated was clever and made the words come to life so well.

Your Affenpinscher is instinctively aggressive. In the wild, dogs need to be aggressive in order to successfully hunt for food, to continually defend against other creatures, and to protect their food, bed, and mate. Even though this aggressive trait has been minimized over time by selective breeding, we all realize that dogs are instinctively aggressive.

The good news is you can learn to recognize, prevent, and handle dog aggression through appropriate dog training methods.

Dogs most commonly exhibit aggression toward one of 2 groups:

1...strangers 2...family members

Each type of aggression requires different intervention because each stems from a different cause.

If your Affenpinscher is aggressive toward STRANGERS, it might be because he has not had a real opportunity to interact with strangers. Your dog relies on you to help him learn about the world. You need to take your Affenpinscher on plenty of trips outside of your home to help him become comfortable in different surroundings with different animals and people.

This process (called "socialization") helps to prevent aggression toward strangers by allowing your dog to learn through experience that he does not need to be afraid of new sights, sounds, and smells. You'll want to start this process slowly so your Affenpinscher does not become overwhelmed. Over time, both of you will look forward this socialization process, while eliminating or reducing your dog's aggression toward strangers.

The most common cause of aggression toward FAMILY MEMBERS is known as "resource guarding." Your Affenpinscher tries to defend his possessions from someone he perceives as a threat. This overly possessive behavior results from the issue of dominance.

Dogs are inherently pack animals. A pack is a very structured environment. Every dog in a pack is aware of the hierarchy or rank of every other dog in the pack. Your Affenpinscher views the family environment the same as a dog pack environment.

You can change your dog's dominant, aggressive behavior through frequent and consistent obedience training to establish your authority over your Affenpinscher. Try conducting two 15-minute sessions each day to help your dog understand that you are in charge. Simply reward him with treats and praise for following your command ("sit") and briefly punish him for misbehavior.

Training Siberian husky dogs isn't exactly a walk in the park. This breed of dog is one of the most difficult breeds to train.

The husky is also one of the most beautiful and friendly dogs out there.

Without knowing a few key traits of the husky breed, it can be very difficult to go about training them.
The first most important thing is that they were meant to run, and run a lot. If they do not get at least an hour of exercise a day, the more the better, they will be very unresponsive to you due to how much energy they have stored up.

Another trait you should know about this breed of dog is that they are considered a working class dog. Pulling a sled for most of the day was the main job for these guys. If they do not have a job in life they will not truly be happy, so keep that workout routine and consistent, they will look to that as their occupation.

While training, do not punish or scold excessively. Your husky will not respond well to this and you will make it even more difficult for your dog to trust you. Ignore the bad, reward the good. That is by far the best training technique there is for huskies.

This dog has a very strong hunter instinct. If it sees a bird or squirrel it will chase, and tug you along with it. Use this to your advantage and grab your dog's attention with a toy that looks like a little fuzzy creature. Once you have the dog's attention you can proceed to break bad habits like growling or barking at other dogs.
